For What It’s Worth features new work by Nebraska-based artist Ramon Guzman. With over a decade of experience and formal training from Metro Community College, Guzman creates artwork designed to offer viewers a lift — whether through a smile, a moment of curiosity, or a pause from the everyday.
Working primarily with wood and spray paint, Guzman balances organic texture with fast-paced, energetic color. The tactile quality of wood grounds the work, while spray paint introduces movement and vibrancy. Rather than rigidly planning each piece, he often responds intuitively to the materials and the evolving composition, allowing the work to develop organically.
Color plays a central role throughout his practice. At times bold and high-energy, at others quiet and reflective, Guzman’s palette supports his larger goal: creating art that is accessible, engaging, and above all, fun. If a viewer leaves feeling even slightly lighter, the work has done its job.
