BENSON CREATIVE DISTRICT
ART & EXHIBITIONS
Little Joys
Little Joys is an assemblage of 365 objects collected over the course of a year, each representing a small, everyday moment that carries a deeper personal story. Beginning on December 31, 2024, Dumas committed to collecting one “little joy” each day throughout 2025 — transforming seemingly ordinary, discardable items into a growing archive of memory, reflection, and meaning.
PROCREATE Vol. 02
PROCREATE Vol. 02 at Petshop Gallery features collaborative artwork created by local artists and their children, celebrating creativity, family, and imagination during Benson First Friday.
underbelly
Petshop Gallery presents underbelly, a new body of ceramic work by Amelia Rosenberg. Her practice explores storytelling, lineage, and the natural world through detailed sculptural forms.
For What It's Worth
For What It’s Worth features new work by Nebraska-based artist Ramon Guzman. With over a decade of experience and formal training from Metro Community College, Guzman creates artwork designed to offer viewers a lift — whether through a smile, a moment of curiosity, or a pause from the everyday.
Impressions in Relief: Marks That Remain | The Woodcut Prints of L. Zenaide Luhr
Impressions in Relief: Marks That Remain, a legacy exhibition featuring 80 woodcut prints by L. Zenaide Luhr, an artist, educator, and influential figure in Omaha’s arts community.
Rooted in a medium defined by craft, labor, and permanence, Luhr’s woodcut prints highlight the expressive potential of line, contrast, and repetition. Each work carries the physical imprint of the artist’s hand, where pressure, grain, and ink become active elements in the creative process.
The Nature of Nostalgia: 2026 Benson High School Senior Art Show

Experiences in Femininity 2026
Experiences in Femininity explores the diversity and critical dialogue surrounding the feminine experience. Managed by University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) students, E.I.F. was founded in 2023 as a 2.5-week exhibition in Criss Library and has been presented annually since.
The exhibition seeks to create an immersive environment that encourages reflection and conversation, inviting visitors to engage with the complexities and nuances of gendered experience.
Malnourished Humanity
A series of work by Denise Hapke focusing on the most hidden and grotesque parts of humanity. In a culture where we tend to share only the beautiful and the perfect, this series accepts a different reality.
Bringing the real world to light, the work invites viewers to confront discomfort, pain, and unease — to tell the story of humanity in its truest form; meager and malnourished.
Into the Garden
Into the Garden features contemporary mixed media abstract paintings on canvas. Sarah Craw blends heavy-bodied texture with fluid acrylics through layered pouring, scraping, and intentional mark-making.
Asking For It
Asking For It is a curated group exhibition exploring internalized misogyny and patriarchy through the voices of contemporary artists.
As professors in a small art department working closely with young people, many of whom are women, the curators have witnessed the subtle yet pervasive ways internalized misogyny surfaces in everyday life. This exhibition emerges from that reckoning.
