Into the Garden features contemporary mixed media abstract paintings on canvas. Sarah Craw blends heavy-bodied texture with fluid acrylics through layered pouring, scraping, and intentional mark-making. Repetitive patterns and formative shapes offer viewers insight into her process, while selective material combinations create compositions that reflect a state of play. Earth-toned colors, textured surfaces, and botanical motifs shape narrative works inspired by the natural world.

For Craw, Into the Garden represents an inner sanctuary — a place to extend grace to herself. Living with guilt and insecurity, she finds solace in painting. The studio becomes a space to fall apart and make sense of things. The synergy between disparate materials is therapeutic, and methodical techniques allow her to resolve thoughts without haste. These rituals mirror the calm focus she experiences when surrounded by nature.
