Benson Business Improvement District
If you’ve ever wondered who’s behind keeping Benson looking good and running smoothly, that’s the BID. They handle things that the City of Omaha either doesn’t cover or fall outside its usual scope.
What We Do:
Snow Removal & Maintenance – Keeping the alleys, and the Benson parking lot and sidewalks safe and clear.
Beautification & Improvements – Holiday lights, landscaping, and other small touches that make a big difference.
Investments & Upkeep – We work with the city when needed, but we also have the flexibility to make our own decisions about how to spend the budget on behalf of the neighborhood.
Current initiatives and projects
Creative Gardens
Our friends over at Benson Bounty have turned our garden beds into spaces for creativity, education, and play. Native plantings, pollinator habitats, and community-led art projects bring a little more life and color to Benson's streets.
BFF Green Team
Keeping Benson gritty, not grimy. The BFF Green Team brings neighbors, businesses, and volunteers together for regular cleanups, environmental projects, and hands-on opportunities to care for the neighborhood we share.
Bench Mural Project
We're working with artists, businesses, and community members to transform concrete benches along Maple Street into original works of public art that reflect the character of Benson.
